In fact, scientists found out the the same pleasure-reward centers in the brain get activated when people talk about themselves that also get activated when they eat food or have sex! They used a functional magnetic resonance imaging scanner to look into the brains of people as they were talking about themselves, and compared the activation patterns with those of when the volunteers talked about other things.
